I have had similar results with my Omega loads staying dry as well. However I no longer attempt to push the load out, I just go ahead and shoot it. Here is a brief story of what I did a couple years back after hunting in a downpour:

I screweda T handle on the ramrod and decided to push the bullet out. Keep in mind it is warm out so I have my shirt off. The bullet/sabot was much tighter than I had expected and I guess I was really leaning overt the handle. Suddenly the T handle broke and ran the ramrod across my chest. The cut was about half the diameter of the ramrod deep and about 4 inches long.
