Feather' s three main problems are: (1) The " NOISE" factor!! How many times have you rubbed up against them, or brushed them agaist a tree, clothes, etc!! They are " very noisy" compared to vanes!!! (2) The Durability factor!! Face it, feathers wear 50X faster than any vane ever could!! (3) In Wet conditions, feathers are the worst!! Yeah, you can put what ever stuff you want on feathers, only to have to re-apply the stuff. Why bother???? Vanes are the best over-all for each catagory!!

The only time someone would have to use " feathers only" would be shooting a stick bow off the shelf!! When shooting a modern compound bow, why would you even think of shooting feathers? Makes no sense to me!! After shooting them for almost 15 years, I would never go back to feathers again!!
