Do this little experiment......go downrange (behind a building or something very, very safe) and have a friend shoot some feathers and then some vanes......I' d say the feathers are at least twice as loud and if you have any seperation in the feather it' ll be even louder. IME it is more pronounced w/ speeds over 260 fps.
