RE: Turkeys in Rain and Snow
hunting in the rain for turkeys is a blessing. they tend to stay out in the open (crop fields, short grass fields, etc.) away from any place a predator could get close to them. the rain will weigh down the bird with many pounds of water weight, it will dampen the sound of an approaching predator, and the turkeys wing feathers are less effective in flying.you should keep that in mind and remember that this is only a common accurance, turkeys sometimes use other things to their advantage.
snow: most times i hunt turkeys in 1-3" snow i see them scratching in crop fields, but they are turkeys and the best way to know what they will do in your area is to scout them. they are cratures of habbit, making your return hunts more effective.
