Frizz, I lost all respect for the Texas Trophy Hunters too, because of their touting the .224 TTH as a deer bullet! Texas or anywhere else for that matter!
As for the hypothetical " starving in the woods" , I' d use whatever I though would give me the best chance at putting food in my stomach! In this case I' d prefer the surer shot of a gun over a bow. I' d use a .22 derringer if I had to. But, thats survival, not hunting!
