Cayugad I am shooting the 44 caliber bullets that TC puts out with the black sabots that came supplied with them. They seem to load very easy compared to the Barnes Expanders I use to shoot that were real hard to push down. The 240 grains should do fine as I killed a bear years ago with one of these with good results so a deer should be just right if I get a shot. This was the first time I shot a muzzleloader in 5 years due to some health problems but man it felt good to see the smoke again!Sighted my slug gun in today also shooting Federal Premium Barnes Expanders and man those things are accurate and deliver a knockdown blow.Just wish they were not so hard to load in a blackpowder gun. Most of my shots in Virginia are around 50 to 60 yards as I hunt mountains and riverbottoms. When you are 52 like me I still hunt very hard but smarter than when I was 20 as your body tells you what you can do but my walking 2 miles a day has helped a lot and hopefully I will be able to weight lift again soon as that helps a lot.Got a 7 year old boy that I will take with me as much as he wants to go and he loves to hunt also.Hope you have good success hunting this year Cayugad! Mike
Try a crushed rib sabot with the barnes Expander, as for a 7 year old. They will keep ya young. Amen that they wanna go out with you all the time.
