Default RE: Sighted In Remington Genesis Today

Finally got to sight in my Remington Genesis today.Shooting 240 grain XTP bullets behind 100 grains of T7.Using Williams peep sight with the factory red fiber optic front sight.Sighted in at 50 yards for all shooting.Shot 10 shots total and took me 5 shots before I could work into bulls eye.Last 5 shots in bulls eye measured 2 inches with 2 shots going into the same hole.To me the gun seems like a very accurate muzzleloader and I am pleased with it for shooting open sights. Was very easy to sight in and I ran a spit patch between every shot I made.Torch cam wanted to stick some but every time I shot I cleaned the inside where torch cam flips up and the back of barrel where where they meet with alcohol and a patch which only took about 30 seconds. This is a minor inconvience I think as I like the strong lockup of the cam when it closes. For 165.00 stainless muzzleloader I think this is a great working mans gun that should bring home the venision.I definitely had to get the 4 inch extension for ramrod from TC and it really helped with loading and cleaning. Now I just pray the good Lord blesses me with a deer with it this year. Mike

Yes today I was practicing loading with the factory ramrod. When I had my 100 grain charge down in it, and the 300 grain Hornady XTP the ramrod barely sticks out the end of the barrel. I have to agree that the rifle is a great shooter and easy to take care of. I have not tried the 240 grain bullets. Are you shooting the .44 or .45 caliber ones?

Good luck hunting. It sounds like you're all set.
