That's one of the problems when dealing with custom work
I have the same problem with saxophone repairmen,there is a waiting list for real talent,always have a back up horn.

This guy should be stand up enough to keep you informed at every step of the process.
I would get my stock and not deal with him again,nor reccomend him without spelling out how he is.
