Just got back from a bear hunt, very successfull, harvested and filmed many bears for our group. Had the same problem as you. Solution, was to get off the bait. Bears are habital and you can pattern them until the sows come into heat. Look for the impressions where the bear is walking in and figure out which direction it approaches from. Hunt this trail 100 to 200 yards from bait. You will see more bears especially that last hour of light. Look for the scratch or claw tree, that could be like the whitetails stageing area before coming into eat. Let us know how your hunt turns out.
