I honestly have never thought about this subject before. I always have taken does and fawns and not thought twice. This topic has me thinking about wether its right or wrong. I think that young fawns are tremendous to eat, and around my area does are abundant as they can get. I think I will continue to not worry about bambi and his mothers feelings and continue my management practices.
I certainly can understand the emotion behind this topic, but I have to agree with this statement. Deer around these parts are plentiful and the population needs controlled. I don't have a problem with the guys I let bowhunt on my farm letting the smaller bucks walk, but if I knew they were passing up shots on does just because they had a fawn with them (which is the VAST majority of does around here), well I would be none too happy.
