I would if I used the one you and GMMAT use, in my Ol'man I'm not worried one bit. I secure it once at my destination height and unbuckle it when I'm position to climb down.
I can't believe that with all the good and good info you put on this site you'd subscribe to "I don't have to do it that way". Equipment fails. Things break. People make mistakes. Stands can loose their grip etc etc etc. I can't believe people think they're immuned to accidents and mishaps. It only has to happen ONCE in your life. IT takes probably what, about 1 minute longer to climb with a harness attached than it does with out. Hook up and two pieces of equipment have to fail before you die.
