Beg to differ with ya Judson, ammo is readily available for the standard short mags most places here in rural Maine and thats not why die sales are hot(I' ve had two shops tell me they still can' t keep 270-300WSM' s on the shelf as they are selling very well). As far as being redundant the 300WSM far outperforms the 308 and the 30-06 is a long action cartridge(so it doesn' t apply to a shooter like myself that perfers to use short action calibers and rifles).I' ve seen no reason not to buy another WSM since owning one, and will get a 270WSM shortly also. All this talk of hype isn' t slowing the winchester short magnum sales at all and they still have more calibers to go in the pipeline. The super shorts may be a bit longer getting ammo available as they were introduced in Feb. of this year so they are rather new. They are popular enough to have their own forum, and Wal Mart selling ammo and rifles chambered for them already.Different strokes for different folks,I didn' t bad mouth your odd choice of caliber so no need to badmouth someone elses choices either.
