Try Gorilla Glue to install the inserts. WalMart sells it. Seems to be similar to Power Bond. Dip one of the components in water apply glue to the other and assemble. Let it set up over night. Too loosen it's grip dip the end of the shaft in HOT water. Works good. Just a side note as it cures it expands slightly.
