They just opened one here in Richmond. I went there yesterday to stock up on neccessities, scent block, propellants for muzzleloader, uninsulated camo, and ghilli suit. I left without spending a dime. Went 5 blocks down the road to Gander mountain and found much better buys. Im not sure if its going to last very long at this location.

I followed three roads to get to BPS and got lost. They arent even on main road to see the store, and no signs....yet. They have their grand opening Oct 1, so Im going bak to see how much they have reduced their prices. They are used to different demographics I believe, and wih Gander Mountain 1 mile away, its gonna be tough for them, other that selling boats and fishing gear.

JMHO

Retail site selection is a focus of one of my minors and from what I've learned - they know the demographics already. They've probably spent a couple years analyzing the area trying to find a spot to put down. They may not have gotten their top choice for sites, but they've probably picked what they consider the "least worst". I don't the area you're from, but they probably consider themselves a destination type store over pure convenience - that being said, their visibility doesn't have to be perfect - just adequate. I find this type of stuff super interesting to study and again from what I know on site selection, I think you may have under estimated them possibly.

But I too find better deals at Cabelas and Gander
