So Driving out to hunt some public land at around 330 I see deer everywhere in the fields. Get in and get up and about 5 deer start showing, 5 does first. an hr later 2 nice 8's come out so now there are 7 deer about 100-150 yards away spread out feeding. Then some guy drives by, stops beeps the horn at the deer 5 times and the deer run into the woods. They were feeding towards me. So I think great. 15 minutes later all 7 come back out. 645 5 does come out 30 yards down wind from me. Now one of the 8 pointers is about 75 out from me feeding my way. 2 does come out and in front of me and an old nanny and 2 little ones walk right to me. The buck comes the rest of the way across and gives one of the does a chase around at about 25 yards. I now have the momma and 2 little ones with there noses in the air staring at me. The doe the buck was interested in starts moving away he stand broadside at 30 yards and starts stepping away towards the doe I pull back the momma and little ones freak and the buck trots off out of range. The whole time my heart was cranking and I just had to smile. It would have been my best buck with the bow. Its only the end of the first week and I already have some good memories.
