i agree kevin. they do a good job managing the herd here. They have corn and bean fields on the fish and wildlife area.
And i have found more clover/sorgum fields then i can count.
i have found area been if for hunting or fishing no one know or the people who know will not tell you about.
Some areas are real nice but try finding a marker or sign to get there. Plus a gps will do you about as much good as a stick for a weapon come deer season.

We don't hype our state because we don't want to get like the ones that do. Try finding a hunt in Illinois or Iowafor a reasonable cost, unless you have family in either one that gives you free or cheap access it ain't happening. We also don't have a DNR that manages for trophy potential like some other states, ours manages for overall health of the herd as a whole. If you want booners we have them, but you'd better be prepared to go further than a few yards from your truck to get on one.
