Early season I would agree to find a transition area. Look for a spot where a few trails come together. Another thing to remember is if the deer are showing up too late to shoot move closer to the bedding cover. Just the opposite if they are spooking out of thier beds on the way in. Calling and decoys work well if used correctly. If not then they tend to just educate the deer in the area. I usually stay away from any calls or decoys until I have determined that other strategies such as stand placement have not worked.
