I would go with transition areas as swampbuck
mentioned.If it has alot of hunting pressure as you said,I would look for thick areas as escape routes and try to ambush the deer there.I have used a decoy before and shot two bucks with it but,I also had a small tract of land almost to myself.One was shot in the pre rut,and one during the rut.
