Default RE: Harvester Sabots

ORIGINAL: SHulion

I have been reading about some great results in the Omegas and Triumphs using BH209 and Harvester short black sabots. Iwas alsotold that the red crushed rib sabot worked well. What I want to know is, what is the difference between the black crushed rib and the red crushed rib sabots from Harvester.
I think this explains it. The red crushed rib are designed for Smokeless, but obviouly they will shoot in non-smokeless. They are thicker. They fit .452 bullets great with a loose bore. The .452 Black Crushed Rib are designed to go down easy, and they work great with .458 45/70 bullets. I shoot these sabots in a Savage with Barnes Origonal .458 45/70 bullets and the Barnes Flat Nose #45843, a MZ look alike but .458 instead of .452. In my opinion the .458 work better in MLers.
