That stock is too long for you. You are too far up on the stock. I am not sure but that rifle looks like a Marlin 336. If so you can get a butt stock on E-Bay for $30 or $40. Buy one and cut it off.

I have busted my "Noggin" many times. If you shoot a lot it will happen. This is the reason I am going to send my Encore off and have it ported. The rifle has too much muzzle flip. Tom.
