RE: Getting a bow for the wife.
Cheap and weak are subjective. I just bought my wife her second bow and was very pleased with it.
The Bowtech Ladyhawk is built for smaller people (short draw length) and gives good performance. The wife was shooting an indoor league for practice and her score went up 50% after switching to the new bow.
It is a 40-50lb bow set at 45lb, has a big brace height (+7" ) and is very light (below 3 lbs).
At $479, it wasn' t cheap, but it is far better built than most " youth" bows that short women end up with.
