I had that same issue and I came up with a meathod that worked well for me. If I had a tweener I would focus on the putting that top pin right above my aiming point. After doing this for so long I ended up being pretty proficient using a singal pin. But before switching to a singal pin as long as I focused on that top pins placement I was sucsessful.
