Best Method for sighting in rifle??

I have a CVA Optima Elite with a .50 muzzle loader bbl, and a bbl in .270 win.
I purchased scopes and mounted both of them, Whats the bestway to get them sighted in??
Should I take it to a shop and have it bore sighted?
What distance should they be boresighted at??
My hunting would likely be shots under a 100yds.
