Hello. My name is Josh. I am from Southwest Mississippi and I hunt whitetails. I am going to purchase a new rifle before next deer season and am thinking on a .300 Winchester Magnum (NOT the SHORT MAGNUM!)
I was worried about recoil at first, but then shot my cousin's Browning A-Bolt Stainless/Synthetic and I love the way that cartridge shoots. I need help in choosing a rifle. I need your opinions on this cartridge,and a rifle. I am currently looking at the Browning A-Bolt Stainless Synthetic, or the Remington Model 700 Stainless Synthetic with Detachable box magazine. I am thinking of using the Remington Express 180 Grain Core-Lokt Pointed Soft point factory load. I need your opinions on what to get. Is this load good for deer from 20-400 yards? Please help me with all of your opinions on the cartridge, and the rifles I have mentioned. Thanks,
