That is a hard one. I practice pretty far sometimes and shoot well most of the time like 50 yds or so and sometimes further. Last year I was shooting great at 65-70 yds but I would never shoot at an animal that far. I would probly shoot 40 yds. at an average sized animal and a little further at a large animal like elk but only if the conditions were right and the animal wasnt spooked.

That being said I have never shot an animal more than 25 yds.
