Default RE: 200 yard shooting with Savage smokeless

Chap - That load has quite a bit of OOOMPH in it (67 gr 4198). I shoot 51 gr of 4198 in my 45-70 using a 300 gr bullet. Glad to see you figured out what the 'problem' was. That's some good shooting at 200 yds - especially with a ML.
One fellow over on Savage forum shoots 72 to 75g in his Savage with 300g bullets. He claims it is not bad. The difference between 4198 67g and 44g of 5744 is HUGE, but I figured for 1 shot I can take 1 shot, I don't need 2. That Muzzle Velocity with 67g of 4198getsme 200 as Max Point Blank Rangewith the 300g Barnes Origonal, Ballistic Coefficient of .291 with the Barnes, retains a lot of energy at 200 yards. Chap
