3 yards, just aim a bit farther back to avoid hit where the shoulder blades meet the spinal area. This is tough to penetrate. A very close shot with a large cut mechanical will kill them dead and quick. I wouldn't take this shot with a small cut fixed head though. Don't cause enough damage to one lung and can loose them.
