My first reaction/thought is no, they cant. I only think this from what I have heard from so-called experts on tv where they talk about why deer grow these "Rob buck" racks. Through injury/genetics etc. But I am hesistant in believing they cant make a recovery. You bring up an awesome question, can they recover? I have shot two bucks that are this way, but one I believe was just broken off from fighting, the other is almost identical to what you are showing. I will try and post a pic of the mount later. I hope someone who knows for sure will clear this up for us.

I'd say right now im 90% once they are non-typical they stay that way, cant over come genetics or injury. (Their hospitals arent as good)
