Have any of you tried this unique conical? It is based on an over-sized Maxi-ball, and is hollowed-out, with a hard plastic insert. I think it is the longest, lightest conical on the market. I would love to know the BC of this slug.
I have handled the expanded .58 slug in this picture, and it was very impressive to say the least. I am sure I will be getting a lot of reports on it's performance on game this fall. I talk to the exclusive distributor all the time, as he is right down the road from me. I told him about these slugs about a year ago, and he got around to ordering some to try out and see if they were worthy of keeping in stock.
Last time I went in there he had a big smile on his face when he saw me, and took me over to the shelf displaying a full assortment of Black Widow Venoms in stock. He tested it out, and said he beleives it is a good bullet. I think it expanded to around 2 1/2 to three times it's caliber no joke!
I get excellent accuracy with the .45 slugs at about 750fps out of my air rifle with shallow rifling and a 1:20 twist, but I can't get them to go fast enough to expand in saturated phonebooks. The hard tip does seem to make for some penetration, though!
