Im going to have to disagree with you on this one. Most of my stands are 15-16ft and I used to bait heavily untill they dropped the limit to 2 gallons per hunter per 40 acres. I have shot many deer on bait piles. Now i just use the natural resources such as 30 acres of corn fields

Jeff 16 feet may not be high enough, remember a bait pile is a big sign post that says
"Hunter is HERE"
