We fish white perch late up here, the last time I went out a couple of people from Mass was up fishing. They couldn't understand why I was catching perch on almost every cast. SoI told them where to catch some that would be easier for them. They fished to close to the bottom and caught a pile of bullheads. I told them they should fish up about 2 - 3 feet for the perch. They were very happy to be catching those bullheads and stated it was the best fishing they ever had.. So congrats on your catch and I am glad you and your girlfriend had a great time. Up here there is no limit on them as most of us throw them back..
