If it's your private land I would think about thining out some of the pines and replanting with hardwood. I know they don't grow that quick, but it would be something for your kids and grandkids to enjoy. On a local radio station they have a timber talk once a week and one of the forestry management teachers at the local college said it is good to have at least 5% hardwoods in your stand. He also says it's good for the deer.
