Sounds like fun Jeff. I did the same thing last year with my Lisa. We brought the bow and the camera, and I told her if one came in she could pic which we would shoot with depending on her comfort level. She picked the bow, I just wasn't able to close the deal though (hit the blind.......[8D]).
Now we are booked for her to attend a hunters safety course in September. I doubt she will get out with a bow this year, but I already have my eye on a
Remington Model 7 in 7mm-08 to have waiting at home when she completes the course.
Good Grief!!! I didnt know they allowed Elk Hunting in NY!!!! Why not a 243 for the lady? Atleast she wont develop a flinch... Remember, its all about form!
You familiar with the 7mm-08? It's not your average 7mm. It's got a bit more punch than a .243, and doesn't kick nearly as much as a .270 or the bigger guns. It's basically the same case as a .243 with a little larger slug.
