RE: Gold tip arrows
I have shot goldtips for a long time. IMO, they are a very good choice for a hunting arrow. I just purchased a new dozen last night, I looked a bunch of different shafts last night thinking I might try something new, but in the end I went with what has always worked for me. I have never had a problem with them. I am shooting the pro hunters out of my Katera XL with a 29 1/2 DL. My shafts are 372 grains, shooting them at 307fps, I am producing just over 77 foot pounds. With your shorter DL and lower poundage, I took a guess at your speed (260fps), you will be producing right at 55 foot pounds. If you shooting faster than 260fps, it will be higher, if you slower it will be a little less. Either way, pleant of KE to blow thru a deer. They are a great arrow, go with them!
