I am wanting to get this KRB7 rolling some lead, but want some advice before I buy a bunch of stuff that I don't need. I have the stuff from my Optima Pro:
Power Belt 265 (I think)
Pyrodex Pellets 50grns
Winchester ML 209 primers
I have been reading A LOT about bullets and powder....and now I am at that point were I was when I started re-loading my own bullets! CONFUSED!!There are sooooooo many choices. Were should I start? I shot 2 pellets with the PB's out of my Optima Pro and was dead on at 50. I have some Knight rings and bases on the way as well as a new Nikon Omega scope! I will be hunting with this during modern firearm season, so I want to get at least 100 yards.
What do you shoot out of your KRB? or do you find a certain combo works out well out of several guns?
I have two inlines and a Savage, the two inlines(Omega and a Knight Disc)I shoot 100g of 777 loose with 300g Nosler using a crushed rib sabot. The Savage I shoot Barnes Origonal 300g with Crushed Rib sabot. I would start with what the manufacturer says works well, that would be a Knight bullet made by Barnes or aShockwave, I get those shooting well. Once I know the gun is accurate with manufacturer loads,I switch to different things.I know the first ML I had was a KnightDisc, and I shot the 260g Knight all lead bullets, it was very tight shooting it, but they worked fine for about 5 years. Then I bought anOmega and shot Powerbelts in it, until I had penetration trouble with the PB because I was shooting 3 pellets and it was too hot for thePB.I shot that for 3 years switch to a Nosler Partition 300g for 2 years, then bought a Savage. Last yearI shot that, here are all thebullets I tested in it:

no if you just want a good bulllet and don't like "messing around", get either a Nosler Partition 300g HG, Speer Gold Dot 300g,Barnes TMZ, MZ or TSX 45/70 bullet or a Shockwave 300g. Any of those would be great. Do a google search for Knight KRB load. You need to deceide if your going to shoot your MLer a lot or just during ML season, if your gonna shoot a lot, then go with the 300g Speer Gold Dot, if you gonna shoot just during hunting season, then I recommend a BarnesMZ, and if your goinna take up to two hundred yard shot a Barnes TMZ.
Best Wishes on your choice,
