Default RE: ok, lets get to know each other

I'm 34 and have a wife and 5 kids....yep I said 5... I have a 12 year old, 8 year old, 5 year old (my only boy), and twin 16 month olds.

My wife is pretty understanding. I've been hunting since I was 13 or so. Actually I tagged along with Dad and Grandpa for years before that. I got my first bow for my birthday one year. An old Bear polar compound. Even though it didn't fit me I shot it anyway. I loved it. Still have it. Mainly I started bowhunting because I love time in the woods. It was an excuse to hunt more. But I got addicted to it.

I joined the Army after High school and once at my duty station I had the oppertunity to bowhunt again. It was a nice escape from everything else going on. I made friends with a guy that made his own bow out of osage orange wood. I always loved working with wood and pretty soon was making my own. I loved it and continued to make bows as a hobby. Its as much fun as shooting them.

I'd like to say I am all Trad but I like shooting my compound some times as well. But I love the challenge of Trad gear. I've deer hunted succesfully for many years and tend to lean toward simpilar do it yourself equipment over the newest fastest thing. There is just something about no sights, no release...etc.
My grandfather and Dad got me started hunting when I was young with a yearly gun hunt. Which was a guys week away more than anything. It was always a good time. I wish we still did it.

I have to many hobbies. Archery being one major one. I just picked up a guitar. Trying to learn that now and its taking up some of the little bit of free time I have.

Oh yeah. I teach archery to kids. I am a 4H shooting sports Archery instructor. Our club is huge. We usualy have 100-150 kids in the club archery is a big part of that. This year had been a bit lighter, gas prices maybe.I also just finished withteaching girl scouts last week. A conservative estimate is 150 girlscame through. There is something about seeing these girls go from thinking they can't do it, to realizing they can and can be good at it.

Well I'll stop rambling on...LOL Thats me as simple as I can make it.
