After fishing with them today I realized something that I had taken for granted
IMHO the Rooster Tail is one of the toughest lures to fish..you just don't throw it out and reel it in or you will be disappointed and catch nothing..A matter of fact...the blade won't even turn..I've fished for one so much it feels like it's another part of my body....This year I rarely used mine because that is something else I took for granted..it's like a 6th sense..
you just know when it's a Rooster Tail day.Today was certainly a Rooster Tail day..It's a new moon and fish were busy..I fished it in heavy cover as well..You kind of know just how deep and how fast to fish it as well..In a sense you actually become that helpless baitfish swimming steady just above the weeds..Remember ..I don't fish a tiny Rooster..A 3/8 ounce is a good 3 inches long..
I recond every lure is like that..it must be fished from the heart and with full confidence..My hackle got ripped to shreds today so after this post I plan to call Cabelas and restock..just called ..I ordered a slate turkey call too..

gone crazy today.
