Raised in a trailer in the middle of cow pasture 30 miles from town.
Been tromping thru the woods since I was big enough to follow my dad
and grandfathers.
Grew up in yard sale clothes.
Ate garden vegetables, venison, and government black label food as a Kid.
Drink Jim Beam Straight, or Basil Haydens if I'm feeling wealthy.
All of our Family Reunions are held in the woods.
Have allot of friends but only a couple that I would follow into Hell and
they would do the same for me.
The farther from civilization I get the more at ease I am.
I get up earlier on the Weekends than I do on the Weekdays.
Was taught the value of self reliance and hard work at an early age.
Respect My elders and still value my family name.
Don't step on my toes and I'll never step on yours.
I will stop to help a stranger in need, what comes around goes around on
the Mountain.
Trust a politician about as much as a $50.00 rifle scope.
Give my kids a bath with the hose in the back yard during the summer.
Etc...........Basically
Can row a boat, skin a deer, fix a flat, start a fire, grow a garden, net a
fish, call a coyote, follow a hound, winch an atv, fall a tree, hook a log,
sharpen a knife, load a cartridge, duct tape whatever, bait a bear,
snare a hair, take a beatin, smile in the rain, bugle an elk, fletch an
arrow, sight a rifle, tune a pistol, and take care of me an mine.
Don't know if I am a Southern Redneck, but I are a Mountain Hillbilly on the weekends. Probably would be a southern Redneck but one of my Grandpa's had to come to Idaho from TN in the 20's for some reason, after finding this picture of him awhile back my guess is the tax man was after him.
