Never used that model , but it got good reviews when it came out.........looks like it has fairly easy to use manual controls and the LCD screen is good sized, what i did notice was a comment about attaching headphones and that it was somewhat cumbersome, however it looks like it should be a good camera to get your feet wet with and once you get into videoing you can always upgrade if you like.
