I started shooting 3 under from the start and have never looked back.
I received my first recurve from world champion Rick Welch.
I ordered his Instructional Volumn 2 video and copied his two point anchor.
I could shoot 3 to 4" groups from the start at 20 yds copying Rick' s anchor.
and have never looked back.
I have 3 recurves, at present, tillered for 3 under.
The only advantage I can see with split fingers is a hunting situation.
You have better control of the arrow shooting from a tree stand with split fingers since you are controlling the arrow better by gripping it between your fingers.
But, so far for me, I haven' t found it to be an issue while hunting.
