RE: Bucks YOU'VE passed.
Apparently my definition of "pass" and yours are two very different things... Sounds to me like you tried to shoot both deer, but couldn't get a shot off. To me, "passing" a buck means never taking your bow off the hook. It meanshaving said deer in range, presenting a clear, makeable shot - butconciously decidingnot to shoot.
Honestly - I've never let a buck through that would break 100". Either I'm not artificially inflating the scores to make myself sound like some Monster Buck Wizard, or I just hunt crappy areas... Maybe I just don't know how to measure... Either way, based on my field-judgments, every singledeer over 100" I've had a legitimateopportunity to kill... I killed.
This year, I did leta couplego that might have been a shade over 100.
"Passing" bucks is a funny thing - and major source of my personal amusement: My buddy has never passed up a buck that wasn't at least 115. LOL I just smile and agree...
All I know is that there are always an awful lot of awfully big bucks that were supposedly "passed up" every year...LOL Color me skeptical... But the Kingwould recommend putting on some chest waders before reading any further in this thread.
