aim for the wingbuts (have heard above the legs also. Shooting for the wingbutts with the intent of your arrow sticking in and staying there (use zwickey scorpios on your shafts) will pin there wings so they cant fly on ya. Also I think Wasp makes a head that would work well for the big birds.
