Ridiculous yes, but unfortunately its often the way it really works. If you had payed attention to the locals' posts about the DNR - police officer relationship, you probably wouldn't question my comment. If one group looks out for the other, and isn't willing to help - he may have to be able to prove he didn't that spot. A feeder in place, during season, with a game camera in location (remember they have his card - probably with pictures of game at the feeder as well) --- All of this is probably more than enough to "prove" he had hunted it in many peoples' eyes. I don't like it any better than you, but if he can't show any evidence that he didn't hunt that spot, there is a chance that things may not go his way.
Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Not in your, my or his neck of the woods. If he gets caught hunting over bait then he's caught. No one can assume he was hunting over bait and give him a ticket. All of the police departments and DNR's in the country can assume that you hunt over bait, but until you're caught in the act there's absolutely nothing they can do about it.Can a cop give you a ticket for speeding as you are walking to your car because he assumes that you'll speed when you drive off????? You can walk into a store and put anything you want in your pocket and walk around all day long and you cannot be arrested just because they assume you're going to steal whatever it was you put in your pocket. Will you be watched like a hawk? Probably. Is this guy being watched?Who knows?

I'm very surprised, no, shocked that anyone would even think that this guy could be in trouble just becausehis DNRassumes that he's hunting over bait.Absolutely amazing.[]

And cops and wardens have never falsified anything

I'm not saying its right or that it will happen to him, I think you're missing my point. I'm saying that it happens, and this is all it takes for it to happen. The entire thing smells fishy to begin with. Think about it. GW going on to land and takes his sd card (we assume for now it was the GW), gives him no notification of any kind before or after. C'mon this stunk from the begininning. I appluad you for being idealistic, I really do. I'll be the first tell you that I hold officers of the law (cops, GW, even some Judges, etc.) in the highest regards. Two of my very best friends are officers and I respect them more than they will ever know. But the fact is that corruption is rampant in many areas on many different levels of the law, fact. For his sake, I really hope this entire thing turns out to be nothing, really. All I advocate is to open your eyes to the possibility. That's all. I've said my peace, hope everyone has a great day!
