Thanks for the info guys. I think I am just going to replace the factory string with a Winners Choice. The question is, can I replace the string only to solve this problem?

I know it would probably be better to replace both the cables and the strings, but their is a big difference between $35 and $100. At least I think it would be around a $100 for both.
