The mould is a 459-405-HB made be LEE. I don't know why but this bullet is supposed to weigh 405 gr with a hardalloy. Mine weighs about 385 with pure lead. This mouldthrows light but I love it!

I got the 50 pounds for 129.00 but when I got it, it was cheeper. Prices are going up. I got 150 pounds. I put 250 grains of chilled lead shot in per 5 pounds of pure lead. It helps the lead to fill the mould better and it bumps the hardness just a tad, but they are still butter soft.
After I pour the bullets I size them with a Lee sizer. I go to .454, then to .451 and then I wrap them with 9 pound 25% cotton paper. Then I size them back to .454, and then to .451
As you can see they fit snug enough I don't thik they will come off the charge.
I would not go with wheel weight. For one thing they are HARD to get down even sized .451 I have a bunch thet are hard and they SUCK!
The pure lead ones go down good and you don't have to clean between each shot. With the hard ones I had to clean between shots just to get a good group. I don't want to sound like I aoldfartbut I know you won't like them.
I have written several posts on other sites about the paper patched bullet. Most guys don't believe me about the groups I get.
