RE: My Editing Computer Setup
Any Adobe products are what I would call advanced software. I've learned Photoshop and my wife is pretty proficient with it and Illustrator. What I did when I started learning Photoshop was to get the Adobe Classroom in a Book. Pretty much the same thing I did learning Final Cut Pro. Got a book, read it, and hit the computer. It's the easiest way for me to learn things. I've been using FCP for a few years now and am learning stuff all the time. It's not an every day thing, but I use it pretty regularly. One great resource on the web is lynda.com. Check out what they offer for free, but what they charge for all the tutorials seems to be a great deal.
