I grew up in SE MO, and to me, it was VERY similar to SE VA, but with even less people (at least where I grew up). Also, TONS of public land with mostly big timber. The deer hunting was ok down there, but you won't have the liberal bag limits that you guys have in VA (looking at 4-5 deer total with gun, and bow). What part of the state are you looking at?
