Art, when trimming the tab, you measure it while it is on as it sits on the string correct. If the tab extents beyond my fingers as the string is being held, I usually trim it so it does not extent beyond my fingers. I actually like it a little shorter then that actually.That wayI can get a good skin on skin anchor (one of the benefits of using a tab).

But if you look at the tab while it is on with the fingers extented, it is a whole different thing.
