I' ll be huntin' Blackies here in northern B.C. in about 2 weeks and will be useing my Marlin 1895G in .45-70 stoked with 350gr Hornady FN and enough Re7 to spit ' em out at 1900fps. Bears go down FAST when hit hard with that combo! If I was thinking of over 200yrd shots, then it' s my Win. M70 7mm Rem Mag with 160 gr Trophy Bonded Bear Claws at about 3100fps.
