Decoys can be a blessing and then not!

I have used a strutin tom decoy I made - he information above is correct - don't beleive all with that cd that came with your decoy!

Yes I have seen that work - and then I have had them stop just out of range never to return.

So experiment.
I am a right hand shooter so place my decoys off to my left for my safety. I try to palce them no more than 10-12 yards from where I sit. I try to place them sothey lookk natural. For a strutting Tom and if you know mating behavior the hen lays down to be bred. I do place a decoy flat on the ground the hen in front of the Tom.

but experiement and you will see sometimes they come right in and then other times they see them and go away!
